Global oil and gas consultancy, Maxoil Solutions - which is headquartered in Aberdeen - has enjoyed a period of rapid growth, which has seen the company triple its office space in Houston.

In order to accommodate its ever expanding team, Maxoil has moved into larger premises in the Woodbranch Building - which is located in the heart of the city's Energy Corridor - after its workforce grew to 10 members of staff, with the company planning to recruit an additional four employees during Q1 of 2014.

The latest staff members were appointed after Maxoil benefited from a significant rise in demand for its specialist services with, for example, the company heavily involved in projects in Alaska's North Slope and the Gulf of Mexico; providing support in process optimization and upgrade assessment work, totalling around $2 million in value.

With the new base able to accommodate up to 25 process engineers and production chemists, the move has also been made as Maxoil looks to further expand, with the consultancy set to secure $5 million worth of work over the next five years, as part of a business development drive in the North America region, which includes the shale gas sector.

These latest developments cap an extremely successful time for Maxoil, which has continued to secure contracts across its traditional services; process performance optimization and trouble shooting, as well as the delivery of a range of flow assurance and chemical management programs.

The company has also identified opportunities to provide operators in Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico with assistance in addressing their production challenges and is involved with the developing shale market and heavy oil production.

Maxoil's General Manager of the Americas, Brad Nelson, commented: "We have worked extremely hard over the years to cement Maxoil's position as a specialist oil and gas consultancy in the market and our rapid growth demonstrates that our services are in high demand.

"A key factor in our growth has been the manner in which our team of talented process engineers and production chemists are able to provide clients with a cost effective solution to the challenges they are faced with.

"Houston has always been a major hub of activity for the global energy sector, therefore we're not surprised that we've become recognized for the value we bring to both brownfield and greenfield developments. With our recent involvement in unconventional production operations and the OPEX savings we are identifying, I see our exposure with oil and gas operators solidifying and I can't think of a more exciting or rewarding time to be working within the oil and gas industry."

Maxoil Solutions offers a range of process engineering and production chemistry consultancy services to the global oil and gas industry, enabling clients to achieve process performance optimization.

The company accomplishes this by applying effective knowledge to new projects and operating assets gained from actual operations experience.

The firm has specialist areas of expertise in operations assurance, flow assurance, fluids separation, produced water management, sand and solids management, gas treatment and transport, troubleshooting, advanced diagnostics and de-bottlenecking.
